Marion building project moves toward construction; court revisits using J.P. Precinct 4 site for emergency response

County officials noted the site's access to State Highway 78 and Interstate 10 and said preliminary planning should include cost estimates for preliminary design and feasibility only at this stage; no commitment to construction was made.
Commissioners asked staff to return with budget numbers and an update at the next workshop in June. They emphasized the reuse of existing county buildings could be less expensive than new purchases but that details and design estimates are required before budgeting for construction.
