Onslow County Parks and Recreation schedules Eggventure and sensory-inclusive hunt in April

Onslow County Parks and Recreation announced two spring Easter events this week: a family-focused “Eggventure” at Richland Steep Park in Richlands on April 12 and a sensory-inclusive Easter egg hunt at Stump Sound Park in Sneads Ferry on April 13.
Amina Robinson, a Parks and Recreation representative, said the Eggventure will run April 12 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Richland Steep Park and will include themed booths, games, prizes, an Easter bunny available for photos and a petting zoo; organizers said food trucks will also be on site. Robinson said there is no admission fee for the April 12 event, and attendees may purchase food from vendors on site.
The department is also offering a sensory-inclusive event April 13 at Stump Sound Park from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Robinson said the latter is intended for attendees who may be overwhelmed by large crowds; space is limited and pre-registration is required. Lunch will be provided to registered participants at the sensory event.
Robinson directed residents to follow Onslow County Parks and Recreation on Facebook for event updates and to register for the sensory-inclusive hunt at onslow.recdesk.com (select Programs and then the event).
Organizers encouraged families to bring baskets and noted that activities are designed to be family-friendly and accessible. The department asked attendees to follow on-site directions for parking and arrival to ensure smooth operations.
