Boulder Transportation Advisory Board swears in two new members, elects officers and opens public comment

The Transportation Advisory Board opened its April meeting by swearing in two new members, electing officers for the coming year and taking public comment.
Michael Ledesma and Hernan Villanueva took the oath of office for membership on the Transportation Advisory Board. Valerie Watson, interim director of Transportation and Mobility, welcomed the new members and staff displayed the oath on screen; each new member recited the standard oath affirming support for the U.S. and Colorado constitutions and the city charter and ordinances.
Board organization and minutes
During the meeting the board held officer elections. Trini Willeshen was nominated and elected chair. Darcy Kitching was nominated and elected vice chair. Meredith was re‑appointed secretary. The March minutes were moved, seconded and approved by unanimous voice vote.
Public comment
During the public comment period Lynn Siegel spoke to TAB about road conditions and the city’s development decisions. Siegel said the town’s streets are in poor condition and urged the board to press council for different funding priorities, calling the current situation “pitiful” and urging TAB to recommend more city resources to road maintenance.
Other administrative items
The board set its May agenda topics and discussed representation for the Vision Zero community partnership committee. TAB members welcomed the new members and emphasized the value of diverse perspectives on the board.

The meeting proceeded to substantive agenda items after the organizational and public comment sections; staff asked TAB members to email questions about packet materials and said staff will follow up by email on links and resources mentioned during the meeting.
