Board posts public hearing on fee increases; three fees to increase

The Town of Lakeville Board of Health posted a public hearing to consider changes to its fee schedule and set the public hearing date for May 7, 2025. The board said the legal advertisement will run April 17, April 24 and May 1, and information is available on the town website and at the board office.
The board reviewed three proposed changes: keep the perk test fee at $150 for repairs but raise it to $300 for new systems; raise annual tobacco permit fees from $30 to $75; and increase the camp inspection fee from $10 to $150. The health agent said the camp fee was low compared with neighboring towns and that inspections for camps (including out‑of‑town private camps) require substantial staff time.
Board members agreed to publish the fee schedule and hold a public hearing on May 7; any comments or appeals can be received at the public hearing and the board said it may revise fees based on hearing input.
