Finance Committee approves second reading of supplemental appropriation ordinance to roll over 2024 projects

Finance Director Ainsley said most of the supplemental appropriation is carryover funding for projects and initiatives that began in 2024 but were not completed and therefore need budget authority in 2025. He also said the ordinance includes funds to hire additional workers so the city can perform some tasks in-house rather than outsourcing, citing mechanics and street and concrete work as examples.
Ainsley told the committee there were no substantive changes since the first reading. Committee member Bieberdorf moved the ordinance and Roseland seconded; the motion carried on a voice vote recorded as “Aye.” The ordinance text or dollar amounts were not specified at the committee meeting.
