Councilor Justin Green described the CDBG funds as intended to improve an area of College Street that "needs some improvement" as the community grows. He said the grant will help the city maintain infrastructure while reducing pressure on the regular budget.
Green said the $50,699 software purchase is for use under an automatic aid agreement between Broken Arrow and Coweta to coordinate fire and first-responder services in areas where Broken Arrow units may be closer. "This automatic aid agreement is going to help ensure those citizens are receiving the services that can be most beneficial to them," Green said.
