Board hears 41 recommendations from Economic Recovery Task Force focused on jobs, equity and housing

Assessor Carmen Chu, co-chair of the San Francisco Economic Recovery Task Force, presented the task force's findings to the Board of Supervisors on Oct. 27, saying the group developed 41 prioritized recommendations to support businesses, workers and vulnerable residents as the city recovers from the COVID-19 economic shock.

The task force report compiles near-term actions and broader investments, and emphasizes equity in every recommendation, Chu said. "We partnered with the Human Rights Commission and many others to seek to ensure that the voices and perspectives of traditionally marginalized communities were heard," she said.

Why it matters: the report is intended as a menu of options for policymakers as they weigh stimulus, workforce supports, housing and other measures. The task force gathered more than 100 members from business, labor, nonprofits, philanthropy and community groups and drew on surveys and focus groups covering more than 1,000 San Franciscans, Treasurer Jose Cisneros said during the presentation.
