The ordinance amends the Planning Code and Zoning Map to create the following neighborhood commercial districts (NCDs), as listed in the ordinance text: Inner Balboa Street, Outer Balboa Street, Bayview, Cortland Avenue, Gary Boulevard, Mission Bernal, San San Bruno Avenue, Coal Valley, Lakeside Village, Lower Hate Street, Lower Polk Street, and Inner Terravel.
The ordinance was moved by Supervisor Safa Yi and seconded by Supervisor Walton. Supervisor Ronan said she would be recused because she lives within 500 feet of one of the proposed districts. The clerk conducted a roll call; the minutes record 10 ayes and one recusal. No public speakers addressed the item at the hearing. The clerk announced that, "with no objection, this ordinance is finally passed unanimously."
The ordinance changes zoning designations and establishes the listed NCDs on the city’s zoning map as described in the ordinance language on the record. The board did not take additional action on implementation during the meeting and no further directions to staff were recorded in the transcript.
