The board voted 11-0 to amend the Campaign and Governmental Conduct Code to increase matching ratios and the amount of public funds for candidates in the city's public financing program (Item 1). The board also passed an amendment to the Administrative Code clarifying presumptions for firefighter and police industrial disability and death retirement benefits (Item 2).
On the environment, supervisors approved an ordinance requiring nonresidential buildings of 50,000 square feet or more to meet on-site electricity demand with 100% greenhouse-gas-free or renewable sources and authorized the Department of the Environment director to adopt implementing rules (Item 3).
The board took a series of votes to authorize certificates of participation (COPs) to finance several property acquisitions and improvements: Items 6–9 (COP amounts described in the agenda) were passed on first reading unanimously.
