Board of Supervisors adopts package of ordinances and resolutions including SFO funding, grants and leases

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors adopted a package of ordinances and resolutions on Feb. 6, 2018, approving funding and agreements that city officials said support airport facilities, public-safety equipment, public health programs and cultural venue leases.

The most prominent actions included a first-reading ordinance to appropriate $1,100,000 to the San Francisco International Airport building structures and improvements project in support of a Police Training Support Facility; authorization to accept federal and state grants for police and public-health programs; a three-year lease extension with the Transportation Security Administration at SFO; and approval of leases and amendments for civic and cultural venues.

Why it matters: The items affect capital projects and ongoing operations for city departments and partner agencies, from airport operations to public health and cultural facilities. Several items also reappropriate or accept outside grant funding, shifting how city programs will be financed through 2018 and 2020 in some cases.
