The San Francisco Board of Supervisors on April 11 unanimously adopted a resolution opposing the proposed dismantling of the Coordinated Care Initiative and the county maintenance-of-effort (MOE) for In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) in the governor's 2017'18 budget.
Supervisor Norman Yee introduced the resolution and told colleagues that the IHSS program provides in-home care such as bathing, dressing, housework and meal preparation for an estimated 500,000 low-income elderly and people with disabilities statewide.
