Supervisors approve contractor parking-plan requirement for long construction projects

The Board of Supervisors on Sept. 8 advanced an ordinance requiring contractors to submit a contractor parking plan as a condition of approval for excavation and major construction permits that occupy more than one on-street parking space for 30 consecutive calendar days or longer.
Sponsor remarks and purpose Supervisor Collin, who introduced the item, thanked Supervisors Christensen and Farrell and city agencies including the Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA) and the Department of Public Works (DPW) for collaborating on the ordinance and its application forms.
"By requiring the development of a contractor parking plan for these larger projects, the neighbors can hold contractors accountable," Collin said in the chamber (transcript).
