Board of Supervisors establishes Greater Rincon Hill Community Benefit District, approves 15-year assessment

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to establish the Greater Rincon Hill Community Benefit District and levy property assessments for 15 years beginning in fiscal year 2015–16.

The action followed a report from the Department of Elections that returned weighted ballots showed 75.07% in favor and 24.93% opposed, leaving no majority protest. Supervisor Kim moved a technical amendment to correct the number of identified parcels from 3,277 to 3,278; the amendment was seconded by Supervisor Avalos and passed without objection. The board then adopted the resolution as amended on a roll-call vote of eight ayes.

The resolution creates a property-based business improvement district (PBID) for Greater Rincon Hill and authorizes the levy and collection of assessments on properties within the district for a 15-year term commencing with fiscal year 2015–16.
