Board corrects TIGER grant figure for Fillmore/16th Street transit project and continues item to May 12

Supervisor Jane Kim and others discussed item 20, a resolution supporting the Fillmore/16th Street transit-priority project and urging U.S. Department of Transportation approval of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency's TIGER 7 grant application. Supervisor Kim asked to correct a typographical error in the amount from "$20,000" to "$20,000,000"; the amendment was offered and seconded.
City staff from the mayor's office (Nicole Wheaton) told the board that the application could be advanced in about a month and supported putting the corrected item on the May 12 board agenda. Kahal Hennessy, the MTA project manager for the 16th Street transit priority project, confirmed the agency will continue community outreach, including a May 16 community meeting at Notre Dame Plaza, and that the grant application would not preclude further design changes based on neighborhood input.
Because the amendment was substantive, the board continued the item as amended to the May 12, 2015 meeting. No vote on the underlying grant support occurred on April 21.
