Friends of RCB baseball update board on field improvements, fundraising for new scoreboard

Volunteers working with RCB baseball updated the board on ongoing field improvements and fundraising for a new scoreboard at the RCB baseball field.
Pat Amara of Friends of RCB baseball described work already completed: raising a low spot in the right field fence, installing a 24-inch drain pipe at the bottom of the hill, topsoil placement and hydroseeding. Amara said the group has arranged for bullpen fencing to be restored and that grass growth will improve next season.
On the scoreboard, Amara said the vendor (NEFCO, contact Scott Butler) will provide the scoreboard, poles and installation; the volunteer group’s responsibility is to arrange electric power at the installation site. "All we're asking for is electric to that scoreboard," Amara told the board. He said the scoreboard manufacturer needs roughly six weeks to build the unit once ordered and that fundraising should conclude around early November to allow winter manufacturing and a spring installation window.
Amara said the group will also explore reusing the existing scoreboard by relocating it to the girls' softball field, pending site preparation and base work. He noted the new scoreboard will allow sponsorship panels (two 24-foot-by-3-foot sponsor panels) to support team fundraising.
Board members and volunteers discussed logistics including crane access and preparing concrete bases. No board action was required or taken; the presentation was informational.
