The Architectural Review Board and the Planning Commission recorded approval Oct. 23 for a masonry screening enclosure to hide new HVAC equipment at Larchmont Library, 6525 Hampton Boulevard.
Planning staff described the screening as a masonry enclosure clad in brick to match the existing building with a precast concrete cap and a seven‑foot galvanized chain‑link fence on the side facing the building. The enclosure was described as 22 feet long, 15 feet, 4 inches wide and 7 feet, 8 inches tall; the existing side entrance and adjacent concrete stairs will remain.
The ARB recommended approval on a 6–0 vote and attached two conditions: that landscaping be extended to screen refrigerant piping and that the masonry screening wall include a water table detail matching the existing library. The Planning Commission recorded the ARB action and vote.
