The Anchor Bay Board of Education received a superintendent’s update on bond-funded facility projects Sept. 24, including conceptual plans and proposed phasing for Ashley, Naldred and South elementary schools.
The superintendent’s presentation — accompanied by architects and the bond team — showed proposed additions for new media centers, reconfigured offices, refurbished classrooms and exterior work such as parking adjustments and parent drop-off separation. Project leaders said they plan to advertise bids in October–November, present awards in December and pursue spring construction and summer pull-ahead work where feasible.

The administration also said some enhancements, such as gym air conditioning, are on a “wish list” and would be considered if bids come in under budget or if another funding vehicle (energy bond) is available.
Timing and next steps
Project leaders told the board their bid window preference (Oct. 1–Nov. 15) reflects seasonal bidding patterns and contractor availability. They said final schematic plans will be submitted to the state for review and that the board will see contract awards once bids are returned.
No vote was required. District leaders said they will return to the board with final bid packages and award recommendations.
