Board approves towing-agreement correction and adds cooperative purchasing memorandum

Doshanae Streeter of the City of Evansville purchasing department asked the board to approve an amendment to the city’s towing agreement to correct a price error: the fee for a "spilled diaper" (an absorbent pad used for fluids released during towing operations) had been listed as $75 and should be $275. Streeter said the amendment had been approved by the city attorney and by Tri State Towing, and the board approved the correction by voice vote.
Streeter also said Tri State agreed to add EBSC (Evansville-based tow service partner) to the agreement at no extra charge; the board approved adding EBSC.
Separately, the board approved entering a memorandum of understanding with HGA/Buy (a cooperative purchasing program) that gives the city access to vendor solicitations and pre-bid pricing without another local procurement step. Streeter said there is no cost to the city and the agreement had been reviewed by legal.
