Board reviews draft 2026–27 calendar; committee recommends pausing day‑before‑Thanksgiving holiday for one year

At the March 27 study session, district staff presented a draft 2026–27 Minnetonka Public School District calendar and explained committee recommendations designed to keep the school year from extending too far into June given a late Labor Day in 2026.

Dr. Getty, representing the calendar committee led by executive director of human resources Angie Flowers, told the board that Minnesota law requires a district school calendar to be adopted by April 1 and that the committee considered contractual teacher duty days, student contact days and assessment timing in drafting the calendar.
