Board hears first reading of curriculum development and review policy

Miss Gaskins said she had received feedback on the draft and would continue to refine the policy ahead of the second reading, adding clearer language about what the curriculum management plan will include and how it responds to findings from a curriculum effectiveness audit.
"I did receive some feedback on this policy, specifically about the language for the curriculum management plan being more explicit in the policy, so those revisions have been made," Gaskins said, adding she would embed additional feedback ahead of second reading. She also said the district had developed the procedural document last year and planned to implement it in the 2025-26 school year.
Trustees asked where they could review the underlying procedure; staff said the curriculum management plan is "hot off the press" and that staff would share it with the board.
Ending: The policy remains at first reading; staff will share the curriculum management plan and return with a revised policy for second reading.
