The change was prompted after some municipalities in the county said they would not respond to 911 calls outside their jurisdiction; Spanish Fork worked with county staff and the county attorney’s office to revise the contract so its responders can continue to operate on extended calls up the canyon, commissioners said. A commissioner praised the collaboration between the county attorney’s office and public-safety staff and noted Spanish Fork Chief Eddie Hales was present for the meeting.
