The Manassas City Council on April 14 approved a resolution amending the Georgetown South Parking District permit schedule to allow residents to purchase all permits during a single January window, instead of the prior two‑period schedule.
City staff told council that Resolution 2023‑55 previously established two time periods — a January window for two permits and a July window for an additional third permit. The treasurer recommended consolidating permit sales into one January period. Staff said the resolution extends any existing third permits that would otherwise have expired in July until January so current permit holders are not disadvantaged.
Council member Ocina moved to approve Resolution 2025‑690; the motion was seconded by Council member Vasquez Luna and passed on a roll call vote with all members present voting yes.
City staff said the change simplifies administration for residents and the treasurer’s office and will be implemented for the next permit cycle.
