Commissioners approve $45,835 engineering supplement for Mayflower Road railroad bridge project

County staff said DLC was the original engineer on the project and additional scope arose when previously unanticipated utilities and railroad-related design elements required attention. The supplement increases the original contract amount by $45,835 on an original contract fee of $733,700, a change the presenter described as approximately a 6.3% increase.
Staff said the supplement was financed by reallocating funds from items that were not fully expended in the project budget. Commissioners indicated they were familiar with the issue from Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) discussions and said the adjustment appeared justified.
Commissioners Morton, Hazen and Pax/Maxmeier voted aye to approve the supplement.
