Genola appoints and swears in Ace Kano as town fire marshal

Ace Kano told the council he has worked in the fire industry since the 1990s, has experience installing fire‑protection pipe systems and holds state certifications (fire inspection, NFPA‑related credentials and a state backflow inspection certification). Kano said he would inspect the church fire suppression system the next day and would perform periodic inspections of commercial structures in the town.
A motion to appoint Ace Kano as fire marshal passed by voice vote. After the vote, Kano was sworn in and signed the oath of office. Council members noted the town would still prepare the formal ordinance to establish the department and the marshal's duties; the ordinance will return to the council for public hearing and formal adoption.
