The Redevelopment Agency of the City of Las Vegas voted Wednesday to award contract number 250068BMB for annual audit services to RubinBrown LLP in an amount not to exceed $36,000 per year and a total initial contract ceiling of $180,000.
The contract covers audits for fiscal years 2025, 2026 and 2027, with two one-year renewal options, City purchasing staff said. Tanya Kimbell, purchasing and contracts manager, told the agency that the procurement was conducted through a competitive request for proposals and noted that annual financial statement audits are required under Nevada law.
Kimbell said, “It is an NRS requirement that local agencies have an annual audit of their financial statements,” and described RubinBrown LLP as the firm selected through the RFP process. The agency approved the contract by voice vote after a motion from Mayor Pro Tem; no roll-call tally was recorded in the transcript.
Agency staff did not provide a detailed breakdown of what audit tasks are included in the $36,000 yearly fee beyond standard financial statement audit work. The contract term as presented would permit the city to extend services for up to five years if renewal options are exercised.
The vote took place during the regularly scheduled Redevelopment Agency meeting; agency members signaled no questions before moving and approving the motion.
