Muskego outlines $750,000 2025 road program; five streets targeted for work

Scott (staff member) told the Muskego City Public Works and Safety Committee on April 14 that the citys 2025 road program is budgeted at about $750,000 and the plan will be posted on Quest with a bid opening on Wednesday, April 16. "The road program for 2025 is on Quest. The plan is for the bid opening is on Wednesday, April 16," Scott said.
The staff packet lists two base bids and three alternate streets. The base bids are Woodland Place (left unfinished last year) and Weatherwood Circle (water laterals are being replaced). The alternate streets are Prairie Meadow Drive, Schultz Lane and Scenic Drive. Scott said the budget "doesn't really go that much" and that $750,000 will cover only a portion of the planned work.
The materials also identify a mandatory alternate related to the library parking-lot project; staff said the library work is broken into three phases and the city hopes to fund two of the phases with road-program dollars. Scott said, depending on the bid results, staff aims to forward the contract to the full Common Council on April 22 for final action.
Committee members had no additional questions during the meeting. The presentation emphasized limited funding and a small roster of streets that can be paved or otherwise improved under the current allocation.
Looking ahead, staff will proceed with the bid opening and, if bids look appropriate, request council approval later in April.
