The Lewiston City Council recorded several votes during its April 15 meeting. Highlights from the meeting record follow.
Approve minutes (March 18): Motion to approve the March 18 meeting minutes was moved and seconded and carried unanimously.
Extend public comment: A motion to extend the public-comment period by 10 minutes was moved and seconded at the request of a council member; the motion passed unanimously.
Events Council appointment: The council voted unanimously to appoint Rebecca Kressle to the events council.
County sheriff contract: The council approved a one-year contract with the county sheriff's office to continue contracted patrol and animal services and to raise the hourly rate (see separate article for details). The roll call recorded affirmative votes from Fizz, John, Ned, Brooke and Jana.
Surplus folding chairs: Council declared old folding chairs in the ballroom surplus and approved giving them away on a scheduled date once the new chairs arrive; motion carried unanimously.
Adjournment: The meeting adjourned on a unanimous voice vote.
