Mona Planning and Zoning on April 2 approved an accessory building permit for K. Carwin and Brook Carter at 585 East Platte Lane and forwarded the application to city council for final processing of fees and city approval.
Commissioners and staff discussed practical requirements the applicants must meet if they run power, gas or sewer to the accessory building. Planning staff said the permit form includes a signed acknowledgement prohibiting habitation of an accessory structure unless the owner returns to planning to request reapproval. Staff advised the applicants to consult utility staff about gas- and sewer-meter sizing and to provide engineering drawings for inspection if the building footprint changes.
The commission approved the accessory building permit without additional contingencies; planning staff said Laurie will call the applicants when council has scheduled and approved the item so they may pay fees and move ahead with inspections and any required permits.
