Bluff council hears report on San Juan County grant tiers; Base Camp workshop set for April 28

The report said the county had set up grant tiers, including a “large” award described as around $50,000 and smaller awards of about $25,000 or less. Talia will present the county’s award recommendations to the San Juan County Commission at its next meeting, and the council said it will notify applicants after the commission acts.
Linda also described an upcoming Base Camp event scheduled for April 28, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; she said tickets are $30. She said at a prior Base Camp a workshop on obtaining grants was offered and that attendees who took that workshop “had a much better chance of getting grants.” The council noted the county’s Community Advisory Committee (CAC) will attend the Base Camp.
No formal action was taken by the Bluff Town Council on the grants during the special meeting; the report was informational. Linda said she missed the earlier county meeting because she was in Denver. Talia was identified in the discussion as the person who will carry the county’s recommendations to the commission, and the council indicated award announcements will follow the commission’s review.
The council moved to the next agenda item after questions about the report and the Base Camp event.
