Bluff — Bluff’s Dark Sky application was resubmitted on April 15 to the town’s Dark Sky representative, town staff reported, and town officials said they expect the application to be on the association’s board agenda later in April.
Lighting ordinance adjustments and application status
Planning staff said they added a portion of the town sign ordinance to the Dark Sky application because the town’s lighting ordinance does not currently specify sign size. That attachment, staff said, was necessary to demonstrate that proposed signage would comply with the Dark Sky standard.
Staff thanked local volunteers who assisted with the checklist and application materials and said the town submitted what it described as a final draft to the association’s representative for review. “We did have to add a portion of our sign ordinance to the dark sky application... That change has been made. That’s been submitted today,” the town’s Dark Skies coordinator said.
Timing
Staff said the application was submitted in time for the association’s board to review it at the end of April, if the association holds a board meeting this month.
Ending
If approved, the designation could be announced later in April; staff said they would report back when the association completes its review.
