Cooper City magistrate closes most code-enforcement cases, certifies several administrative fees

Special Magistrate Angel Petty Rosenberg presided over a Cooper City special magistrate hearing on code-enforcement cases on April 2, where staff reported several properties were now in compliance, administrative fees were certified in multiple matters and one case was reset for improper notice.

The hearing matters ranged from a dead tree and overgrown lots to unpermitted fences and abandoned vehicles. City staff told the magistrate that most cited properties were either now in compliance or had paid citations; where administrative fees or fines remained unpaid, the magistrate certified those amounts for collection with specified due dates.

The most immediate outcome involved the first case on the docket, Case No. 242645 (Kurt Kaiser, 10260 SW 40th Manor). Code enforcement inspector Daniel said the previously cited dead tree had been removed and he uploaded a photograph showing compliance. The city withdrew the case from the hearing and staff said no administrative fee or fine would be charged.
