Christie and sports‑boosters representatives explained the chosen vendor is Bloom USA, which installs field directional sound systems in Pennsylvania athletic venues. The total project cost presented was $26,889.48: $23,403.48 for the speaker system and $3,468 for electrical work to provide power at field locations. Boosters pledged $21,500; administration was asked to cover the remaining $5,389.48.
Speakers said installing electric near the fields would also permit teams to use pitching machines without running long extension cords. The district and committee discussed fast‑tracking the work so athletes could use the system before the end of the current baseball season. Christie said he would prepare documentation and work with the district’s procurement staff so the contract could be placed on the full board agenda for approval at the end of the month.
No formal vote was recorded in committee; presenters thanked Nicole O’Rourke and Sports Boosters for the donation and the committee indicated support for moving the contract forward for board approval.
