The Ivins Planning Commission unanimously recommended a zone change from RA-1 to RE-15 for approximately 9.5 acres located near 755 West Center Street, the commission chair told council members Thursday.
Pam, speaking for the commission, summarized the Tuesday hearing: commissioners considered whether the proposed amendment aligned with the city’s general plan and land-use map, including the city’s vision, unique character and adjacent uses. The commissioners concluded there were no findings to recommend denial and voted unanimously to forward the recommendation to the city council.
Council members asked whether the map submitted to the council differed from the commission’s version; staff confirmed there were no changes and that the commission had reviewed the options and made a recommendation consistent with adopted land-use guidance.
The council did not act on the zoning item Thursday; the commission’s recommendation will be part of the council’s future consideration for formal rezoning action.
