Council awarded Earth Resources Corporation the contract for the Summit Tank 18‑inch waterline project (CIP CW2507) for $1,346,462 to improve water flow to Jasper and Castle Canyon Mesa; vote was unanimous.
The Prescott Valley Town Council voted unanimously on April 10 to award a construction contract to Earth Resources Corporation for the Summit Tank 18‑inch Waterline Project (CIP CW2507) in the amount of $1,346,462.
The project is intended to increase water flow into the area served by the Summit Tank, including the Jasper neighborhood and Castle Canyon Mesa, and to better utilize the 4,000,000‑gallon Summit Tank storage. Staff described the award as the second phase of a multi‑phase effort that expanded the tank in a prior phase; a future third phase will upsize the booster station at the bottom of the hill.
Public works staff told council they received nine bids, with the low bidder withdrawing and the next low bid from Earth Resources Corporation becoming the recommended award. The contract awards and scope were presented to council, and staff recommended entering contract with Earth Resources Corporation for the stated amount.
Council approved the contract by unanimous vote. Town staff will proceed with contract execution and coordinate construction scheduling, required locates and public notifications with the contractor.
What's next: Execution of the contract and preconstruction coordination; staff said additional phases may follow, including booster station upsize work to complete system improvements for the Summit Tank storage.
