County to seek board approval for Superior Court and justice court pro tempore reappointments

Flores said Judge Bannon handles a caseload of more than 300 matters including juvenile, domestic-relations and civil cases; staff warned that replacing or reassigning those duties could increase caseloads for other judges and delay case processing.
Flores also requested reappointments for several justice court pro tems to cover part-time needs and weekend initial appearances. She named Justin Allred and Gary Raymaker among the pro tem candidates; staff explained that pro tem judges hear weekend and holiday initial appearances and help manage workload during peak periods. Flores listed Charles Price, Gary Douglas, Nathaniel Redmond and others as part of the Saturday initial-appearance rotation.
Board members asked questions about caseload drivers and funding; Flores said the Superior Court judge’s position and some of the funding are supported by special-revenue enhancement funds.
