A scheduled Englewood City meeting was canceled after only three participants attended, leaving the group one short of the four members required for a quorum, participants said.
Without a quorum, the meeting could not take formal action and participants agreed to end the session. “We have 3 present, 4 is a quorum, so we do not have a quorum,” one participant said.
The meeting discussion focused on whether to wait for additional members and on communication about future attendance. One participant asked that AJ include a reminder in the next message to members to notify the chair in advance if they will not attend. “AJ, I’m not gonna make this official, but in your next message to everybody, would you ask that they let people know ahead of time if they don’t plan on being here?” the participant said.
Another participant suggested the group note the importance of notifying the chair during the next scheduled meeting so absences can be anticipated. Participants repeatedly expressed hope that absentees were safe and urged members to inform organizers when they cannot attend.
Because no formal motions were made and a quorum was not present, no votes or official actions were taken during the session. The meeting was called to a close after participants determined waiting longer was unlikely to produce a quorum.
