Corona del Sol team honored for Top-10 finish at We the People nationals

She described the We the People program as a civic-education initiative that uses a congressional-hearing format to teach constitutional principles and democratic institutions.
Teacher Ms. Rund and student presenters described the program's impact. Senior Maggie LaRue told the board the experience changed her plans: "I changed my major going into college after this. Civic education and programs like We the People are what make a difference," she said, adding that the program teaches civil discourse and how to work with others. The presentation credited several teachers and coaches for extensive out-of-school support.
Board members invited the team and staff to stand for recognition and members offered praise; one board member asked for a group photo. The board did not take further action beyond the recognition.
