Clayton honors Missouri Scholars 100 recipent Anna McAndrew and student leader Jake Shamo

Dr. Goczewski introduced Anna McAndrew as a Missouri Scholars 100 designee for 2025. The Missouri Scholars 100 program, sponsored by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals, selects students statewide based on a formula using grade-point average and ACT or SAT scores, top-10 percent class rank, course rigor, attendance and leadership. Dr. Goczewski said Anna will be recognized at a banquet hosted by the University of Missouri.
Later, Dr. Murdock and Glenridge staff honored third grader Jake Shamo for sustained kindness and leadership in supporting a classmate with autism. Dr. Murdock recounted examples of Shamo's daily inclusion: sitting with and guiding the student, advocating when classmates excluded him, and helping him in classroom and recess settings. The presenter described Shamo as "a leader, a role model, a protector, a true friend, and a great human," and said Shamo's example led to broader class inclusion.
Board members and administrators congratulated the students and their families; the meeting provided flowers and refreshments in recognition of other personnel and awardees that evening.
