City building official says demolition permit submittal contained tenant-improvement work; staff flagged fraudulent behavior

The building official asked that staff post a letter of conditions in the permit file and said the applicant’s repeated resubmissions appeared to be an effort to obtain approvals beyond the scope of a demolition permit; the official used the word “fraudulent” to describe the applicant’s approach and asked the council to note the issue.
No formal action was taken during the meeting; the comment was entered into the public record for the city’s permit file.
