Somerville committee approves revisions renaming and reorganizing energy-and-climate commission

The committee voted by roll call to approve the amendments and to recommend approval of the revised ordinance to the full City Council.
The package combined drafting cleanups, membership clarifications and a key transitional provision allowing the existing commission to serve as the interim membership of the new Climate Action Commission until enough members are appointed to achieve quorum. Legislative and policy analyst Bridal Salisbury walked committee members through the edits and said most were drafting changes; Director Christine Blaise, director of the Office of Sustainability and the Environment, told the committee she and Salisbury were "on totally the same page" on the revisions.
