Ronan said prior budget action in July extended HSH’s rapid rehousing authority for up to five years but only funded 80 subsidies; other programs (for example, CalWORKs-funded subsidies administered by HSA) have shorter subsidy limits. The proposed ordinance would create a citywide policy to capture families across programs who need longer subsidies to stabilize.
Ronan asked colleagues to cosponsor; Supervisors Walton and Peskin were listed as early cosponsors. She credited advocates and HSA/HSH staff for working with her office on the legislation.
