Board approves dozens of ordinances, contracts and appointments; key measures pass unanimously or by large margins

San Francisco9 Board of Supervisors on Oct. 27 adopted a large group of ordinances, resolutions and appointments on the consent calendar and during general business, approving measures ranging from zoning changes to grant acceptances and contract amendments.

Taken as a package or on single-roll-call votes, the board passed most items unanimously; two measures were approved by 10–1 votes. Items approved included changes to the planning code to allow greater residential density in RH zoning districts, a slate of state grant acceptances for environmental and public-health programs, multiple lease and contract amendments, and the 2022 updates to state building codes as amended for San Francisco.

The measures adopted included:

- Ordinance amending the planning code to permit up to four dwelling units per lot (and up to six on corner lots) in RH residential house zoning districts (Item 7). Vote: 10–1; Supervisor Walton voted no. The ordinance was described on the agenda as affirming required findings for adoption.

- Authorization to accept and expend an approximately $1,500,000 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention grant to the Department of Public Health and to add four grant-funded full-time positions (Item 8). Vote: unanimous on first reading (11–0).

- Resolution to accept an approximately $2,400,000 grant from the California Energy Commission9s Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program (ARFVTP) to develop an Electric Vehicle-Ready blueprint; the proposal includes in-kind participation from Google, EVgo…
