Mandelmann argued collecting SOGI data from employees and applicants would help the city track employment equity goals, identify recruitment gaps, and better serve LGBTQ residents. He thanked staff from the Office of Transgender Initiatives and DHR for their assistance and also submitted an in memoriam following his remarks.
