The ordinance, introduced by Board President Shamann Walton and co‑sponsored by several supervisors, applies only to grocery stores and retail pharmacies with at least 20 employees in San Francisco and more than 500 employees worldwide. The pay supplement covers employees who make $35 per hour or less (or $75,000 per year or less).
