Board adopts multiple consent items including grant acceptances; continuation set for Treasure Island Marina resolution

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors adopted a bundle of routine and grant items by unanimous roll call during its May 8 meeting.

Items taken on consent and announced as adopted without objection included: approval of meeting minutes for April 3, 2018; items 1–6 on the clerk’s consent calendar (routine matters); a planning‑code ordinance allowing the city to resume preexisting self‑storage uses when a property leased to the city is vacated (item 14, passed on first reading); several grant acceptances and authorizations — including an approximately $19.3 million One Bay Area Grant award (item 8), a roughly $2.7 million U.S. Department of Transportation award under the California Disaster Assistance Act (item 9), and a Recreation and Park Department grant of about $3.3 million from the California Department of Housing and Community Development (item 10) — and three retroactive district attorney grant acceptances totaling approximately $2,007,000 (items 11–13). The clerk recorded unanimous ayes on most consent votes; when announced, one consent bundle recorded “11 ayes.”

Separately, Supervisor Jane Kim asked for a one‑week continuance on item 15, a resolution concerning a proposed private marina expansion in Clipper Cove at Treasure Island; Kim said stakeholders, including community groups and the Sierra Club, were engaged in mediated talks and had requested additional time. The board granted the continuance to May 15 by unanimous consent.

Several items were presented as retrospective authorizations to accept funding and to affirm CEQA determinations where applicable. The consent calendar format means the board took no extended debate on those items at this meeting.

Recorded vote counts for the consent packages were announced by the clerk at the time of passage; where the clerk read an item’s roll call, the board recorded unanimous adoption unless otherwise noted.
