Board continues Blue Ribbon Panel hearing on law enforcement transparency to March 7

The Board of Supervisors convened a committee of the whole Feb. 7 for a scheduled hearing on the Blue Ribbon Panel on transparency, accountability and fairness in law enforcement but voted to continue the matter to March 7.
Supervisor Malia Cohen moved to continue the hearing, citing the recent swearing-in of a new police chief and recent Department of Justice recommendations that the chief and the department should have time to review before a full board discussion. The motion to continue was seconded and carried unanimously on roll call.
The continuance was entered without public comment on the motion; public testimony on the panel’s final reports and recommendations will be received at the rescheduled date.
