The Washington County Commissioners Court approved a budget amendment on Sept. 30 to purchase GovWorks’ ComCoach software for the county’s 9-1-1 operations.
Staff and the 9-1-1 director described ComCoach as a quality‑assurance and training automation tool that uses recording and analytics to identify training opportunities and track compliance across 9-1-1 calls. In the meeting, staff said the software can analyze a large volume of calls and training records, replacing a largely manual review process and increasing the percent of calls that can be audited for quality and compliance.
Staff told the court there is a pricing window: if the county did not purchase now, the price would rise; staff asked the court to approve a one-time payment to lock the current price. In the public record during the discussion, the one-time amount cited was $22,500; staff said the contract term would be one year with annual renewals and that the purchase does not obligate the county to a long-term multi‑year contract.
Commissioners approved the budget amendment by voice vote. Staff said they will finalize the purchase and begin implementation steps with the vendor and that the software will supplement internal compliance and training work at the 9-1-1 center.
Ending: Staff will proceed with contract paperwork and deployment planning for ComCoach; the 9-1-1 director will oversee implementation and report progress to the court as requested.
