Supervisor reports on farmers-market vouchers, account moves and clock repairs

Supervisor Wilt reported on multiple operational and financial matters during the meeting, including farmers-market vouchers, internal account adjustments and an estimate for a long-delayed clock refurbishment.

Wilt said the township distributed 380 farmers-market vouchers at $5 each and that vendors had redeemed 131 vouchers so far (including 14 from prior years), representing $655 in payouts to date. He noted 76 households have used the food pantry in 2025.

On finance, Wilt explained a matured CD was rolled into the money market account in mid-July because renewal rates were lower than current money-market yields. He also said bond funds originally segregated into a savings account for a bridge project had been used to pay contractors and that fees on the savings account had exceeded earned interest, prompting transfers so funds would earn the highest available rates. Wilt told trustees to expect these movements reflected in the financial statements.

Wilt also reported a clock specialist estimated more than $8,500 for a first full refurbishment in over 20 years, and that additional work — exterior repainting of the numerals and mortar repair — would be separate projects. He said descendants of the family that originally installed the clock have offered to help pay for restoration work.

On facilities, Wilt said staff is pursuing an updated estimate for a service window to replace a makeshift counter and working on drainage waterproofing near the front entrance where heavy rains have caused seepage into the lobby.

Trustees discussed voucher coloration to make expired vouchers easier to identify; Wilt said a color change is planned next year.
