The proclamation invited local government buildings, community centers and citizens to display two lights on the evening of April 18 as part of the national vigil.
Ursula, who accepted the proclamation on behalf of the initiative, described the event as a kickoff for the country’s 250th anniversary commemorations. "It's the kickoff for America's 200 And Fiftieth Birthday," she said.
