Staff explained the amended language includes a proposed Section 8 requiring disclosure that a property is located within a locally designated historic district under IC 36-7-11 and a proposed Section 9 requiring disclosure of a conservation easement as defined in IC 32-23-5-4.
The staff update noted the next procedural steps could include a conference committee if both chambers adopt different language; sometimes the other chamber accepts the amendments and conference is unnecessary. Commission members discussed whether the commission should notify the city’s state representatives or circulate the update to neighborhood organizations after the commission has reviewed the amended bill language.
